Myrthe van der Gaast

Myrthe van der Gaast has been working with NABC since 2017. She initially worked with the NABC’s Agribusiness team and came back after a brief break to join the Strategic Programmes team. Within NABC, Myrthe is the project leader for the MATCH project; a 3 year project that aims to connect African talent from Nigeria and Senegal to the European labour market. This project is implemented in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Before joining NABC, Myrthe worked at the political department of the Netherlands Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa which helped her gain in depth knowledge on Dutch foreign relations and development trade. During this time she was also able to travel to various countries in Southern Africa. Her interest in international affairs and social justice has also led her to work for independent think tank, HCSS, and Dutch NGO ActionAid, based in Amsterdam. Myrthe holds Masters Degrees in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of Leiden.

Myrthe van der Gaast is NABC’s first point of contact for questions related to Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa.
