We have seen a steep increase of business especially from Egypt the last 18 months were local start ups and venture capital (VC) managers are attracting investments from (institutional) investors from Europe (like FMO) and the USA that are very interested investing in Egyptian start ups active in fintech, agri and renewables. Most investors wish to invest into Egypt through regulated jurisdictions like the Netherlands as creating investment vehicles in the Netherlands gives these investors treaty protection and guarantees. Therefore we see many Egyptian VC and Private Equity Managers setting up legal investment vehicles (corporations and funds) in the Netherlands. The role of Bolder is advising these managers in the best setup together with our extensive network of tax advisers and acting as administrators of these investment vehicles making sure that they are in compliance with local and international regulations. This gives the VC managers the platform needed to raise the necessary capital to invest in their portfolio of start ups.
