Blue Roots Timber plans to relocate part of its production operations to Africa, specifically Morocco. The goal is to move processing activities closer to its main markets in Europe and North America. In Morocco, we will process our timber into finished goods and export these products directly to our main markets in Europe and Northern America. By producing in Morocco instead of Malaysia, Blue Roots aims to reduce transport distances, shorten lead times, lower logistics costs, and improve overall supply chain flexibility. A key objective of this relocation is to significantly lower the company’s carbon footprint. Shorter transport routes and reduced intercontinental shipping will substantially decrease transport-related CO₂ emissions. This reduction is expected to be significant and aligns with Blue Roots Timber’s long-term sustainability ambitions and commitment to responsible operations. Overall, the relocation is intended to create a more efficient, resilient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable supply chain.
