  • Description
  • From the 1st–7th of December 2025, the NABC will facilitate a Business Visit to the Netherlands on Layer Farming for MSD Animal Health Morocco. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between Moroccan poultry stakeholders and Dutch companies by fostering knowledge exchange and exploring partnerships to enhance productivity, sustainability, and biosecurity in Morocco’s layer farming sector.

Africa’s poultry industry is experiencing steady growth, driven by urbanisation and the rapid expansion of the middle class – the fastest-growing in the world. As dietary habits shift toward higher consumption of animal protein, demand for poultry meat and eggs continues to rise. North Africa leads this transformation, with Morocco’s middle class representing around 85% of its population. Although the country has achieved near self-sufficiency in poultry meat, challenges such as rising feed costs, outdated farm infrastructure, and limited disease control continue to constrain growth and efficiency.

The Netherlands offers advanced technologies and best practices in feed formulation, housing systems, animal health, and sustainable production. This business visit will connect Moroccan industry leaders, veterinarians, and decision-makers with Dutch innovators, research institutions, and equipment manufacturers to exchange insights and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in farm and company visits, interactive sessions, and matchmaking activities designed to build technical knowledge and promote trade partnerships. By facilitating this visit, NABC aims to support Morocco’s efforts to modernise its poultry value chain, improve productivity, and strengthen bilateral economic ties between Morocco and the Netherlands.
