Ralph Rustom

Ralph joined NABC in January 2022 as a Junior Project Officer. He supports the coordination and implementation of various projects and events that fall under the “Community and Events”, “Programs” and “Africa Insights Desk” NABC pillars. Fluent in Arabic and French, his main focus is on Northern, Western and Central Africa.

When it comes to education, Ralph has a BSc in Agriculture from the American University of Beirut, as well as an MSc in Agroecology from Wageningen University. Throughout his academic journey, he has acquired sustainable agricultural management skills, in addition to familiarity with the agricultural sector in many regions, including Africa. His MSc thesis in Wageningen was about the effect of crop diversification on the biodiversity of natural enemies in strip cropping systems. In an internship within the “Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment” department of a Belgian company, Ralph gained public policy evaluation knowledge, through evaluating some Common Agricultural Policy programs commissioned by the European Commission.

Ralph believes in the importance of establishing sustainable and inclusive business opportunities for African and Dutch stakeholders that guarantee mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties.
