Thank you for coming, we are very glad to have you here tonight
It is our honor and pleasure to welcome you here tonight on a Business Dinner with Dutch entrepreneurs with many years of experience in commercial relations with Africa and Sierra Leone in particular, organized by the Netherlands-African Business Council.
The Netherlands-African Business Council is a network of 300 Dutch companies active in Africa, of which a representation is here tonight. Those who are with us today represent many sectors, including agriculture, construction, water and maritime and logistics.
For the latter, NABC is the coordinator of the Port Development Partnership Africa-Netherlands, a unique collaboration between 17 Dutch companies and knowledge institutes and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Accra, aiming to contribute to the further development of ports in West Africa. His Excellency Mr Ibrahim Sorie has met with the PDP during his visit to the Netherlands and His Excellency Mr Hans Docter is with us today, as are the PDP companies BAM International, DAMEN Shipyards, Van Oord and the Port of Amsterdam.
The large number of companies present here tonight shows their interest in maintaining the good business relations with your country. Sierra Leone is full of potential in many different sectors. Its government has taken many steps to claim a significant economic position in West-Africa. Many companies here tonight view Sierra Leone as a land of opportunity. Therefore, NABC is planning a business mission to Sierra Leone later this year and we hope to meet you again there.
Tonight we have the wonderful occasion of participating in a business dinner with you and your delegation in light of intensifying the collaboration between the Netherlands and Sierra Leone. I would like to especially thank the sponsors BAM International, DAMEN Shipyards, Natural Habitats and Holland Shipyards for making this possible.
But first I would like to give the floor to His Excellency Mr Ibrahim Sorie.
