Last Friday, NABC and SANEC joined hands and organized the New Year’s Reception at the Heineken Experience Centre in Amsterdam. Approximately 300 people witnessed here the official opening of a fruitful and successful 2014. Networking was the core purpose of this event and we believe that this goal has been achieved.
NABC and SANEC have invited the Dutch ambassadors who are accredited to the African countries to join the reception in order to arrange an open matchmaking session prior to the plenary session. In spite of the delay we were glad to welcome them. Apart from the excellences, the attendance consisted of companies’ representatives, delegates from ministries, professors from universities, honorary-consuls and counsellors from African embassies.
Siep Hiemstra, employed at Heineken as President Region Africa & the Middle-East, gave the audience on behalf of Heineken a warm welcome and shared a short history about its development. Mark Agterdenbosch, SANEC, and Bob van der Bijl, NABC, has been given the floor to talk about their vision on doing business in and with Africa for 2014. Both pleaded for more cooperation with the Dutch government and for the opening of Dutch embassies instead of their closure. Finally, Simon Smits from Foreign Affairs stepped forward and said some words about …
The evening culminated in where it started: networking, chatting, sharing ideas and experiences and drinking. One more time, NABC and SANEC would like to thank Heineken for offering this wonderful location for this event.
