A selection of 30 African innovators have been chosen for their groundbreaking work, thought-leading initiatives, and creative approaches to problems for the Quartz Africa Innovators series. One such innovator is Amrote Abdella, a tech executive at Microsoft from Ethiopia. She is a regional director for Microsoft’s 4Afrika Initiative, which helps startups across Africa to get technical expertise, supports them to scale up and enables them to create African solutions that can become globally relevant. Or take Nigerian Iyinoluwa ‘E’ Aboyeji, co-founder of Andela: a training center that teaches young Nigerians how to code and find job placements.
